Paideia is an ancient Greek word meaning the culture of a society. CCCS will have a culture that is formed upon and around the comprehensive word of God. CCCS is an influential Christian education. Our goal is to educate the spirit, soul and body of the student. We believe this approach is in unification with 1 Thessalonians 5:23 “Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Scripture will be an imperative part of the school culture. Not only will students read and discuss the Bible, but whenever possible, we will use textbooks written in narrative form from a Biblical worldview. Many contemporary childhood development specialists agree with Charlotte Mason that children learn best through information provided and conveyed in narrative form.
Etiquette will be in every aspect of our school culture. Leadership, teachers, staff, parents, visitors and students will all be expected to maintain proper etiquette, manners and decorum, thus creating an atmosphere of kindness and respect and of preferring one another. Therefore, applying the commandment Jesus gave in John 13:34: “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.”
Every human is created with a soul that will live forever. With this in mind, CCCS will engage in the education of the whole person which will have eternal benefits. It is not the role of CCCS to save souls, only God can do that. However, the leadership, teachers and staff are committed to being used by God to work in the life of each student and point their hearts, minds and souls toward God in heaven and all of His design, beauty and wonder.
